The apartment's design features include an eclectic mix of classic architecture paired with modern elements, and is designed exclusively for the client’s family, who love vibrant spaces. So the project desired a clean installation, with all of the components integrated into the visual design of the apartment surroundings, along with a user-friendly interface for the family members and staff.

“We interpreted the space as a smart unit that needed all the functionality of high-end luxury, but keeping in mind a lot of people would be using it. So everything had to be elegantly simple.” shared Nick.

The apartment is controlled with a Savant Pro System, either via dedicated wall-mounted touch panels in every room or floating Savant Pro Remotes, where family members can select from pre-programmed scenes to enjoy the lighting, shades, audio, video and much more during their daily usage. Two unique technology solutions that may be overlooked at first, but really adds to the apartment’s beauty, are the shade control feature and motorized ceiling lift feature for TVs & Projector Screens.

The apartment's 360-degree view of Manhattan with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, exposed fully to the Sun during any time of the day, required detailed shade automation coordinated with sunrise and sunset times for family's comfort. Plus, it protects the furniture by managing the temperature and enhances the overall energy efficiency. Another unique feature of the apartment is its location atop a Manhattan skyrise, providing unobstructed 360-degree panaromic views of Central Park, Empire State Building & Freedom Tower. By using motorized lifts, mounted in the ceiling, we were able to hide all of the chunky electronic equipment when not being used, paving way for the family to be able to enjoy their apartment’s undoubtedly the best feature - Views.

 

Ultimately, the home automation & control system and its thoughtful installation delivers a sophisticated, consistent experience for every member of the family.
